Opening day Premier League games (v2)
Man Utd v Tottenham 12.45

This could be a cracker. Man U are far from the finished article, and it's hard to know what to expect from Spurs.
Prediction: 2-2

Bournemouth v Aston Villa 15.00

All eyes on Bournemouth here. Last season's Championship darlings, this season's relegation favourites. Expect another dull season from Villa, and a hard fought opening day draw.
Prediction: 1-1

Everton v Watford 15.00

Another relegation favourite facing one of the division's better mid-table teams. A winning start for Everton.
Prediction: 3-0

Leicester v Sunderland 15.00

Could be interesting, this one. Both teams will be looking to scrape every point going right from the off. Bore draw.
Prediction: 0-0

Norwich v Crystal Palace 15.00

Well, this will be a test of Palace's mettle and a sign of the success or otherwise of their summer transfer activity thus far.
Prediction: 0-2

Chelsea v Swansea 17.30

Could there be an upset on the cards? I say yes.
Prediction: 0-2

No.

The last time I tried to bet was in the 1990 World Cup, when England were playing Ireland. I was convinced England would win and went into a betting shop to place a bet. When I got inside the shop, I didn't know what to do and was too embarrassed to ask, so walked out again. That was a good lesson, as the match ended in a draw.

And a monkey with a pin would on average have scored 30 points.

Coffee versus Lawro

Lawro scored 20 points against Coffee's 10 points.

Based on BBC scoring system - a correct result (picking a win, draw or defeat) is now worth TEN points. The exact score earns THIRTY points.

Coffee - did you have any money riding on those predictions?

Love the predicted 0-0 bore draw at Leicester.

Nice down to 10 men, lost two to injury as well. Not going to learn anything about the diamond now :(.

Bringing on a genuine winger to try and exploit the diamond I think. A good test of the system.

Monaco tactical sub on 25 mins. Embarrassing.

Re: Opening day Premier League games (v2)
They play the diamond so the front two basically cover back as wingers. It's a no-striker system without the ball.

Good idea.

Different rules re loan players in France then. Germain is on loan at Nice from Monaco, is playing against Monaco, and has scored

Re: Opening day Premier League games (v2)
Commentator on the Nice/Monaco game just confused a black striker for the veteran white defender Bodmer. Fuck me, if you don't know he's white you really shouldn't be a commentator for Ligue 1.

Nice playing a diamond midfield if anyone's interested to see how that might work for another club.

Mourinho not happy with his medical staff for going on the pitch.
Obviously they should have been aware that the cheat Hazard was faking injury. Schoolboy error

It's going to be a tough season for us. There's very few mugs in the PL now. Swansea battled for everything.

Mourinho and Terry went off sulking

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha

Re: Opening day Premier League games (v2)
Swansea were good, couple of fortunate goals for Chelsea.
Probably played better when they were against 11 men and faded when Montero went off.
Chelsea still the biggest collection of cunts in the history of professional football.
